Through intimate audio portraits, guided conversations, scripted stories and improvisation, the programme turns everyday stories into powerful, drama, shared listening moments to a background of carefully curated music.
The Actors Studio will officially launch on the 26th September 2026. You are invited to to join us at the Flavel Arts Centre in Dartmouth at 10.30. This is when the stories will be gathered, where listening will be the order of the day and where the Studio ideas and plans will be presented and developed.

The Hopebridge Radio Programme is an audio series created in collaboration with local residents, artists, and community partners. Each episode weaves together monologues, dialogues, and soundscapes that reflect life in a town that strives to be sustainable and resilient to
social, environmental and political turmoil. It's broadcast on WaterWaves Media. Link below.
Guided by the Listening Matters method, Dartmouth and South Hams folk are invited into a gentle, structured process that makes it safe to speak and meaningful to listen. Stories that emerge may touch on memory, belonging, history, love, passion, resilience, creativity, or everyday moments that reveal and create something deeper that becomes Hopebridge.
The stories and charactars are adapted for radio drama, identities protected.
Episodes are recorded in an intimate radio studio setting in the Flavel Arts Centre and shared through local broadcast, live listening events, and digital platforms. Whether you take part as a storyteller, an actor, or a listener, Hopebridge invites you to experience the power of being heard.

No. Workshops are designed for complete beginners as well as trained actors. Exercises are clearly guided so you can participate at your own pace. In fact working with professional actors will up your game and skills base.
Most regular workshops are for adults and older teens (18+). From time to time we offer specific youth sessions, which will be clearly labeled on the schedule. The Method as a technique is very demanding so 16 to 18 year olds will need written permission from their Guardians or parents to work and train in the studio.
The Actors Studio is an experiment and is in beta phase. There will be no charge initially. However all participants will be invited to raise funds to cover costs. After Beta pricing will varies by programme and duration. You’ll see the exact fee and any concessions listed on the booking page for each date or series in the future.
You’ll start with grounding and listening exercises, then move into partnered work, scene or story exploration, and a gentle reflection to close. In actor training and creative team sessions we will start with Tai Chi and Yoga exercises and voice training before movingto discovering the Actor within and scene practice.
You’ll always be invited, never forced. You can begin by observing, then participate more actively as you feel ready—at a pace that feels safe. Often the shy hide incredible talent. Discovering and nurturing it will be gentle.
